The Village of Worth worked with the Chicago Metropolitan Agency for Planning (CMAP) to develop its first CIP for fiscal years 2027–2031.The CIP will guide how Worth plans, prioritizes, and pays for major upgrades to infrastructure and facilities.

The Village Board adopted the plan, which includes:

  • 53 capital projects
  • $13.4 million in planned investments over five years
  • Improvements to streets, public facilities, and water and sewer infrastructure
  • Purchases of vehicles and equipment

Community input helped shape the plan. As part of the process, the project team:

  • Formed a steering committee of residents, Village staff, and leadership
  • Shared project information through Village communications and at high-traffic locations and community events
  • Mailed two surveys to residents
  • Developed six project proposals for residents to vote on

The winning project, Repair and Upgrade Storm Drains, was included in the plan. The project will repair storm drains and upgrade inlets in areas with poor drainage to help reduce localized flooding and improve reliability.
