The City of Braidwood worked with the Chicago Metropolitan Agency for Planning (CMAP) to develop a comprehensive plan that can help guide choices and decisions that are made in the future.

CMAP would like to thank every resident, city staff member, elected official, and community member who contributed to the Braidwood Comprehensive Plan. This collaborative effort has created Braidwood’s first comprehensive plan in two decades.

The plan is a policy document and is not legally-binding. It addresses Braidwood’s challenges and opportunities by offering recommendations and suggested strategies that both preserve and build upon the town’s unique character. It provides guidance for making informed decisions on land use, community development, transportation, economic development, and parks and recreation. It is also adaptable, allowing for modifications as community needs evolve.
