The City of Hickory Hills has partnered with the Chicago Metropolitan Agency for Planning (CMAP) to create its first Comprehensive Plan and establish a vision and land use strategy for the City. The Plan will help residents and elected, and appointed officials guide future actions, decisions, and development in the community. The current challenges over the last year and a half have shown us that the way we live, work, shop, connect, and play is constantly evolving. People have new expectations and aspirations for the places they call home. We want to make Hickory Hills the best it can be now and into the future.

Help us shape the vision and future of Hickory Hills! The City of Hickory Hills is hosting the first community workshop of the comprehensive planning process Tuesday April 19th, 6-8pm at City Hall to discuss how we can make Hickory Hills the best it can be!

The workshop will include a series of informative and interactive engagement stations to give the community an opportunity to learn more about the planning process and the findings from the Existing Conditions Report and share thoughts and ideas for the future of Hickory Hills. We need your input to gain community feedback on Hickory Hills planning issues and potential strategies and solutions to those issues. Visit the project website above to learn more and spread the word to family and friends!

We need your help! You know Hickory Hills best. Please use this engagement platform to tell us what is important to you, what needs improvements, and how the City should look in the future. Use the tabs below to share your thoughts! We appreciate your time and valuable feedback!

Pin your City!

10 months

This mapping exercise will help jump start the conversation of all the wonderful things Hickory HIlls has to offer, as well as locations for improvement. To help us learn more about the City, please drop pins on the interactive map. There are four different pins to use: My Neighborhood, Favorite Places, Areas for Improvement, and Missing Pedestrian/Bicycle Connections. The map functions the same as Google Maps so feel free to scroll around and zoom in. Please place a pin on a particular intersection, institution, landmark, park, etc., and then add comments and photos. Do not forget to include information like the name, history, fun facts, size, wish list items, etc. Have fun and thank you for teaching us more about the City! You know Hickory Hills best!
