The Chicago Metropolitan Agency for Planning (CMAP) is partnering with the Village of Lemont to create a site plan for the location currently the Lemont Fire Protection District Station No. 1. As the fire district prepares to relocate, this offers a unique opportunity to reimagine the site for future redevelopment.

This project will explore how redevelopment can build on existing infrastructure and the transportation network to create a vibrant, inclusive space that meets the evolving needs of Lemont residents. The process will focus on attracting investment, improving transportation connections, enhancing public spaces, and increasing safety and accessibility for all modes of travel.

Community engagement will be central to this effort, ensuring that all voices are heard and the redevelopment benefits everyone in the community.

  • Lemont Station 1 Redevelopment Community Survey

    The Lemont Fire Protection District is preparing to relocate from its current Station 1 location at 15900 New Avenue, allowing it to better serve the community. The Lemont Fire Protection District, Village of Lemont, and CMAP are collaborating to reimagine the site. This is a unique opportunity to create a vision for redevelopment of the site in a way that reflects the community’s priorities.
