The Village of Matteson worked with the Chicago Metropolitan Agency for Planning (CMAP) to develop its first CIP for fiscal years 2027–2031. The CIP will guide how Matteson plans, prioritizes, and pays for major upgrades to infrastructure and facilities.
The Village Board endorsed the plan, which includes:
- 104 capital projects
- $60.9 million in planned investments over five years
- Improvements to streets, utilities and public facilities
- Purchases of vehicles and equipment
Community input helped shape the plan. As part of the process, the project team:
- Formed a steering committee of residents, Village staff, and leadership
- Shared project information through Village communications and at community events
- Mailed two surveys to all Village residents
- Developed six project proposals for residents to vote on
The winning project, Median Landscaping, was included in the plan. This project will improve medians along US Route 30 and Cicero Avenue.
