The Village of Matteson is working with the Chicago Metropolitan Agency for Planning (CMAP) and a consultant to create a Capital Improvement Plan (CIP). The CIP is a 5-year planning document used to identify, prioritize, and schedule capital projects and purchases. Capital projects can include facility updates; construction or reconstruction of streets; infrastructure for water, sewer, and stormwater utilities; public space improvements; major equipment and vehicle purchases; and technology updates.

The CIP allows the village to create predictability and awareness of upcoming community investments and demonstrate transparency and accountability to residents and business owners. The CIP will identify essential capital assets and projects that will preserve or enhance existing facilities and provide new assets to respond to the service needs of the community. The CIP will also help frame the village’s decision-making and resource allocation to ensure capital investments align with its strategic goals and priorities.

Public engagement is an important part of the CIP process. Please revisit this page for upcoming opportunities to learn more about the Matteson Capital Improvement Plan and provide input.
