2022 CMAP Municipal Survey

Getting Started

As the designated regional planning agency in Northeastern Illinois, the Chicago Metropolitan Agency for Planning (CMAP) is always looking for ways to better assess the needs of the 284 communities within our jurisdiction. To measure demand for different types of technical assistance that CMAP makes available through its Local Technical Assistance (LTA) program, inform policy analysis of such topics as transportation funding and management, and help track implementation of regional goals, CMAP conducts a biennial survey of municipal governments.

Our last survey- completed in 2018 prior to the COVID-19 pandemic- boasted an outstanding response rate of over 80% from our partner municipalities. Now in 2022, we look to continue that success with the latest version of our outreach efforts. CMAP looks forward to another great response this year from our partner municipalities and thanks you in advance for your contributions to this important effort.

Survey Submittal Options

• Complete ONLINE: Municipalities are encouraged to complete the survey following this link. This is the preferred method of completing the survey.
• PRINT and complete: If the online method is not an option, you can also download the PDF version. Once completed, scan and return the survey by email to cneder@cmap.illinois.gov.

Mayors and managers at each municipality will be emailed links to the 2022 CMAP Municipal Survey on Thursday, September 8th, 2022. The survey closes on Friday, September 23rd, 2022.
