The Village of Palos Park is working with the Chicago Metropolitan Agency for Planning (CMAP) to create a Transportation Action Plan. This plan will work to eliminate deaths and serious injuries caused by traffic crashes. Crash data, community feedback, and best practices in traffic safety will guide the recommendations of the Safety Action Plan. The Plan will use a Safe Systems approach, which focuses on preventative, redundant, and harm-reducing strategies to improve safety for all roadway users, with a focus on vulnerable individuals, including as pedestrians and bicyclists. The Plan will also be leveraged as application material for relevant funding sources for implementation.
