CMAP's Future Leaders in Planning (FLIP) program provides students with a firsthand look at the planning profession. The free leadership development program exposes students to the many aspects of urban planning, from design and public transportation to housing and environmental protection.
Led by regional planning experts from CMAP and its partner agencies, FLIP provides a place for students to learn about urban planning as a potential college major, career option, or lifelong interest. Through hands-on activities, speakers, and interactive lessons, FLIP students gain experience in urban planning, learn how to become a community advocate and leader, and develop their resumes along the way.
We're looking forward to starting the 2023 FLIP program soon! This page serves as a central resource for FLIP students to read up on program updates, check out planning resources, and interact with fellow FLIPmates.
FLIP 2023
Dates: Monday, July 10, through Friday, July 14
Location: CMAP's office at the Old Post Office in downtown Chicago along with field trips throughout the region.
