Welcome to the Village of Glen Ellyn Accessibility Improvements Engagement Platform. Our aim is to develop a comprehensive Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) public right-of-way (PROW) transition plan that ensures that the transportation infrastructure, services, and programs within our municipality are fully accessible to individuals with disabilities.
No one knows your community better than you, so we invite you to join us in this important effort.
WE NEED YOUR HELP!

This plan will serve as a strategic roadmap for identifying and assessing barriers that currently impede accessibility on roads, sidewalks, crosswalks and other components of the public right-of-way. By integrating community feedback with detailed assessments, we will pinpoint specific challenges and develop practical, innovative solutions to enhance accessibility. These solutions will focus on the sidewalk sections that pose the greatest barrier to access in areas that are likely to receive high amounts of pedestrian activity.
Throughout the planning process there will be opportunities to provide feedback on the greatest challenges associated with traveling in your community and where you want to go, this will help establish a vision for the future of pedestrian travel around the city. Your input will help shape a more inclusive environment where everyone can participate and engage fully.
The planning process starts with a complete inventory of the existing sidewalks, curb ramps, bus stops, and traffic signals throughout the village. So don’t be surprised if you see us walking around over the next couple of months!
