Final Corridor Plan

Thank you to everyone who participated in the corridor planning process! Your feedback and ideas helped craft the plan recommendations. The South La Grange Avenue Corridor Plan was accepted by the Village of La Grange Board on July 13, 2026.

The Chicago Metropolitan Agency for Planning (CMAP) is partnering with the Village of La Grange to develop the South La Grange Road Corridor Plan, which will build on the foundation laid in the Village’s recent Comprehensive Plan. The project aims to create a plan to transform South La Grange Road into a safe, accessible, and thriving corridor. The plan will help residents and elected and appointed officials guide future actions, decisions, and development in the community.

The South La Grange Road Corridor is extremely important to La Grange serves as the gateway and major throughway into the Village. The corridor is also a major area of commercial activity and connects directly to downtown. This corridor plan is intended to advance the subarea planning from the Comprehensive Plan to provide more detailed and actionable strategies for subareas like South La Grange Road.

The study area focuses on South La Grange Road from West 47th Street to East Plainfield Road within the Village of La Grange.
