Consultation has concluded

The Impacts of a Pandemic on Planning

How has COVID—19 impacted the world of urban planning? This session will begin building your toolkit of understanding how this fast-changing pandemic impacts urban planning, transportation, and development. To establish a solid foundation, we will discuss three topics within planning: local planning practices, transitioning spaces back into use, and the future realities of planning. Guest speakers from Morton Grove's planning department will spearhead the conversation as to how COVID-19 has impacted communities at a local level. By the end of the session, you will be able to articulate and discuss how a community can respond to crises after and during a sweeping pandemic.

What are a couple of things you miss the most that are no longer available since this pandemic started? Is it dining at your favorite restaurant? Spending time with friends and extended family? Going to concerts? How do you think protocols will change as these things return?
