The Impacts of a Pandemic on Planning
How has COVID—19 impacted the world of urban planning? This session will begin building your toolkit of understanding how this fast-changing pandemic impacts urban planning, transportation, and development. To establish a solid foundation, we will discuss three topics within planning: local planning practices, transitioning spaces back into use, and the future realities of planning. Guest speakers from Morton Grove's planning department will spearhead the conversation as to how COVID-19 has impacted communities at a local level. By the end of the session, you will be able to articulate and discuss how a community can respond to crises after — and during — a sweeping pandemic.
