UPDATE: on October 9, 2023 the City of Country Club Hills voted to adopt the new Comprehensive Plan. Thank you to everyone who participated in the process!

The City of Country Club Hills and the Chicago Metropolitan Agency for Planning (CMAP) are pleased to announce the launch of a planning effort to update the City’s Comprehensive Plan. This will be the first Comprehensive Plan update since 2007. A lot has changed in the last 15 years and Country Club Hills needs a new roadmap to the future.

The plan that results from this process will be rooted in the community’s vision, values, and objectives and the market realities of today. The City of Country Club Hills is proud and excited to partner with CMAP on this comprehensive planning effort. Together, we will shape a vision for the future of Country Club Hills that aligns with CMAP's ON TO 2050 principles of resiliency, inclusive growth, and prioritized investment.

This planning process will serve to establish that vision through careful analysis of existing patterns and trends and continuous conversations with the Country Club Hills community about your preferences and priorities for the future of the city.

Topics to be explored as part of this process include the future of:

  • Land use, growth, and development
  • Transportation and mobility (walking, driving, biking, and transit)
  • Quality of life issues
  • Environmental justice
  • Affordable housing
  • Conservation and natural resources
  • Infrastructure and utilities
  • Implementation of plan recommendations

The planning process officially began in April 2022 and will conclude in the fall of 2023. See the project schedule below to get a sense of the major project phases and community engagement windows. Over the course of the project, the City of Country Club Hills and CMAP will host—alongside our consulting partner, Design Workshop—various opportunities to engage with the planning team in person and virtually, including public workshops, surveys, presentations, interviews, and online activities.
