Road Program: Annual Road Resurfacing & Accessibility Program
Project Description - Funds the resurfacing of approximately 1.5 miles of roadway each year, including curb repairs, drainage improvements, and ADA-compliant sidewalk ramps and crossings. Streets are prioritized using pavement conditions, traffic data, staff review, and resident input. Work includes milling, resurfacing, base repairs, and installation of ADA curb ramps.
Sidewalk Program: Sidewalk Improvement & Infill Program
Project Description - Funds construction of approximately 800 linear feet of new sidewalks in high-priority areas and replacement of damaged or unsafe sidewalk panels each year. The program focuses on filling gaps near schools, parks, transit stops, and commercial areas, and repairing existing sidewalks. Improvements include concrete replacement, ADA ramps, grading, and parkway restoration.
Water Main Program: Bi-annual Water Main Replacement Program
Project Description - Provides funding to replace approximately 1,300 linear feet of aging or undersized water main every two years, including service connections and surface restoration. Projects are prioritized based on break history, pipe condition, hydraulic performance, and coordination with roadway projects to reduce costs and disruptions.
Radar Equipment: Solar-Powered Radar Speed Signs
Project Description - Funds the purchase of an additional solar-powered radar speed feedback sign to improve traffic safety and address speeding concerns. This project increases the Police Department’s ability to deploy signs in response to resident requests and targeted enforcement needs.
Tree Trimming: Annual Tree Trimming & Urban Tree Maintenance Program
Project Description - Funds an annual program (approximately 400 trees) for trimming and maintenance of parkway trees located along municipal streets (not county and state routes) to improve tree health, reduce storm hazards, and enhance safety and visibility along streets and sidewalks. Work includes pruning, removal of hazardous limbs, and clearance around intersections, signage, and streetlights, performed on a structured maintenance cycle.
Tree Replacement Program: Parkway Tree Replacement & Diversity Program
Project Description - Funds an annual program (approximately 50 trees) for the replacement of declining or damaged parkway trees located along municipal streets (not county and state routes), as well as selective infill planting. The program emphasizes species diversity and climate-resilient trees to strengthen the urban canopy. Work includes removals as needed, stump grinding, soil preparation, planting, and early-stage tree care.
