Northwest Cook Transit Coordination Study
The Chicago Metropolitan Agency for Planning (CMAP) is partnering with Pace Suburban Bus, Harper College, the Townships of Hanover, Palatine and Schaumburg, and the Villages of Hoffman Estates and Schaumburg to conduct a transit coordination study in northwest Cook County. The Northwest Cook Transit Coordination Study's goal is to develop recommendations for more effective, efficient and coordinated transit services in the project area.
As part of the study, the project team is:
- Evaluating how transit agencies can maintain and improve existing, high-quality services;
- Investigating how all types of commuters can access affordable and accessible transportation;
- Exploring alternate transit funding sources; and
- Discovering opportunities for new strategic partnerships.
The study began in summer 2023 and will continue through the end of 2024.
